Consulting with Dr. Young
Dr. Young agrees with the recommendation of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) that an orthodontist evaluate youngsters by the age of seven, even if there is no obvious problem. If a noticeable problem exists before then, a consultation should be arranged. Both of these recommendations take best advantage of a child's growth years.
Teenagers and adults often consult with an orthodontist to improve the appearance of their teeth, if their bite changes, and when considering orthognathic (jaw) surgery.
During your first visit, for which there is no charge, you'll meet with Dr. Young to review your health and discuss your concerns. Dr. Young may take x-rays to obtain a better view of your jaws and teeth. After an exam, Dr. Young will explain treatment options and expected outcomes. He will take the time to help you make the best and most informed decisions.
