Dr. Anthony Young

Dr. Young was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Lane Tech High School and completed his undergraduate education at Loyola University. He is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Dentistry where he also earned a Master of Science degree and two certificates of specialty. Dr. Young resides in Downers Grove with his wife Mary Ellen and their daughters Sierra who is studying engineering at Cornell and Nora who is a senior at Benet Academy. He enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking, photography, clay modeling, and computers.

Dr. Young is one of only a few dentists in Illinois to complete dual specialty training in both orthodontics (e.g. braces) and prosthodontics (e.g. bridges and dentures), however, he has limited his practice to orthodontics. He also has extensive training and experience in the use of functional orthopedic appliances (FOAs), which can dramatically change a growing child’s misaligned jaws and facial profile while preparing the teeth for braces.

Dr. Young is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and has been a clinical instructor at the University of Chicago’s Zoller Dental Clinic and the Loyola School of Dentistry. He has been a dentist since 1974, an orthodontist since 1980, and has treated thousands of children and adults.
